Dave Bagley

Dave is a self-taught artist whose practice has developed from 2-dimensional drawing & stain glass to 3-dimensional sculpture. His drawings are inspired by nature & insects, animals & plants can all be found in the repetitive detail in his artworks. His use of the mandala evolved as he became more interested in the fractal mathematical structure of his drawings. His most important mandala to-date was produced over an 18-year period & contains numerous personal deities that protect the palace of his inner mind. Dave has been a proud Brain Artist & exhibited at Toronto’s Artist Project since 2018. His sculptural works reflect on the popularization of social media and its effects on the individual. 2021 brought Dave an artist residence residency at the Chateau D’Orquevaux, France, for the month of November.
