Columbia livia (Pigeon)

Sage Szkabarnicki-Stuart

It is unknown where Pigeons originally come from. They appear to have traveled alongside humans for thousands of years, establishing themselves in cities across the world: skeletal remains of Pigeons in Israel point to the birds existing there for at least three thousand years. The Pigeon ‘Cher Ami’ received the Croix de Guerre for her service during WWI. This award was intended for human allied soldiers who demonstrated great valor.
