I grew up in Kyoto where beautiful nature and many historical temples co-exist. My first artistic experiences were with my grandfather, a self-taught artist. At 15, I began formal art lessons with a local artist, and entered the Kyoto University of Art and Design at 19.Art is what connects dreams and realities, subconscious and consciousness. We are all connected at one level of consciousness. What comes to me while painting by quieting mind is possibly shared but forgotten experiences with others.
