Nadine survived an 8.8 earthquake in 2010 and considers it the greatest gift she’s ever been given. Following that life-changing event, she left her high profile job as a multi-award-winning art director to devote her life to art making. Nadine’s work captures the awe, energy and wonder of what it feels like to be fully present in a place through the five senses, and how that can lead to experiences of transcendence. She starts each piece by calling to mind the experience with all her senses, often revisiting travel journals to anchor the moment in time. She builds up an image in many layers to capture the energy and essence of a place, so the viewer can experience it in turn. Markmaking is added by scribbling with pastel or other tools to enliven the work. Nadine was recently featured as one of 18 artists chosen to appear in the inaugural season of Landscape Artist of the Year Canada. Her work appears in private and corporate collections here and abroad.
