Ethel Voronkova (née Augusto) was born in the Philippines and grew up in Toronto. She came to Canada with her family in 1996. She now resides in Brantford, Ontario as a freelance Artist. Ethel studied Fine Art at Centennial College and Graphic design at Humber College. She has exhibited in galleries including Arta Gallery, Twist Gallery, as well as Hamilton City Hall and the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair. Her works are in private collections all over Ontario and rented by corporate buildings in Toronto.
Her latest series called "Woven Memories" is a reflection of past, present and future experiences. Inspired by nature from both the Philippines and Canada, Ethel captures beauty, changes, struggles and strength in life and mirrors it in her paintings through the form of nature. A stylized abstraction comprised of bold forms, layers of colours and interconnected strips of paint on canvas.
