Daniel St-Amant is a BFA graduate of NSCAD University, in addition he also completed his graduate diploma in visual effects for film and television. Industrialism, urbanization, and the exhaustion of resources in our natural world are common themes in his work. The method of creation deliberately includes traces of human disruption or imbalance in the subject matter. This often includes physical transfers in his medium of tire tracks left from vehicles and pedestrians from the city streets that submerge him. His work typically contains found, natural objects that are salvaged and repurposed for texturing and depth. As a painter Daniel is constantly pushing his mediums to create a dialog and reflective commentary to challenge these themes in an ever changing global environment.
