I LOVE ART

Nothing is more important than the life of a creative - it opens our channels of possibilities and love and makes us see the world in a new way. For designer, author, TV personality, and maker Tiffany Pratt, to see art and how an artist views the world is a look into their heart and soul – and that is a gift, and why she LOVES ART so much. Every experience with creative expression is that artist’s gift to this life.
You won't want to miss this talk from the Fair’s official Art Love Envoy; her undeniable warmth and sparkle will light up the square.

Wag the Doug: Doug Ford vs. The Arts
LIVE TAPING Presented by CANADALAND
As the Ford Government cuts programs and services across the board, arts funding has not been spared. Music, visual arts and even libraries have had their funding slashed. Meanwhile, laws are being liberalized around things like sports fighting and tailgating. So what does this all mean for Ontario? Wag the Doug is a pop-up podcast about the premier of Ontario, the forces that drive him, and the consequences of his government's actions. On July 13, we'll be popping up at TOAF to explore and explain the impacts of his policies on the arts and culture in Ontario — and maybe, just maybe, figure out which art he actually likes.
WAG THE DOUG is a podcast about Premier Doug Ford, popping up whenever it’s needed to help Ontarians understand the latest bizarre, unprecedented developments at a level of government to which few previously paid much attention. Combining expertise in provincial and municipal affairs, co-hosts Allison Smith and Jonathan Goldsbie bring context and perspective to the series of cataclysms that have become the new normal in Canada’s largest province. Hosted by Jonathan Goldsbie and Allison Smith.
Glimpsing the Future: Focus on Emerging Artists
w/ Joshua Heuman, Curator of Education & Public Programs, The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery
Organized by The Power Plant for the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, this program will introduce you to some of Toronto's diverse, innovative and emerging artists under age 35. After introductions, this fast-paced format allows each artist just 20 images and 20 seconds per image to describe their studio practice, process, and artworks. All artists will then be available for questions.
Art: Unwalled Panel Discussion
w/ Robin Mckenna, award-winning director & producer of The Gift; David Ward, artist & founder of New Regionalism Project, Adrian Hayles, muralist & co-director of Hashtag gallery and moderated by Jenn Goodwin, dance artist & producer, Nuit Blanche
This year, TOAF explores the theme of ‘Art: unwalled’. In a world spiked with cultural, linguistic, and ideological barriers (both real and exaggerated), what is art’s role in this? In this panel, we explore how art in different mediums – from street art to documentaries – can act as mouthpiece, peace-maker, or simply a communicator of ideas, experiences and social change. Additionally, our panel of experts discuss the public accessibility to art, and why it is vital for Canada’s culture.
The Partial Lounge is a shipping container transformed into an emerging art space for visitors to convene and engage with TOAF’s Art Talks and programming, in the heart of the fair, by our programming partners at Partial with Silva Custom Furniture.
